In our relationships with others, we often find a lack of love in our hearts. We are insensitive to people's feelings and indifferent to their circumstances. Our lack of love shows up as hidden anger, impatience, irritation, bitterness and a tendency to quickly pass judgment. If we analyze these feelings and actions, we find that all of them have their roots in some form of pride. Like the Pharisee in Jesus' story, we feel superior because of our background, ministry position, education, knowledge or spiritual experience.

Jesus' disciples were radical: They were men who forsook all to follow Christ and held nothing back. They left their homes, parents, families—everything. Yet after three-and-a-half years of listening to Jesus' teaching, learning from His example and experiencing His presence, they were fighting about who among them was the greatest.

For us this means that we, too, can forsake all, be totally committed to world evangelism and be willing to die for Christ. Yet within our hearts, pride can still exist, as well as the longing to be more important than others.

Our thoughts have a great impact on us.  Our thoughts are what impact our words and actions.  When your mind is not in a good place you can be hurtful in words and deeds.  Yet often our mind gets burdened by anxiety, despair, and fear.  If you notice the circular thoughts, stop them by changing the direction of your thoughts.  Don't allow your mind to be dominated!  Focus on ways you can show mercy to others or what you can say to respond with a gentle tone.  Focus on things that please the Spirit.

As Christians, we are the body of Christ.  Disagreements will occur among each other.  We have been called to love one another more than ourselves.  It gets especially difficult when toes are stepped on and territories are jeopardized.   When conflict happens put a lot of effort in working together to achieve His purpose.  If we can't love someone who shares our same beliefs how could we show love to those who believe differently?

Each one of us walk different roads in our faith with God.  While it takes a lot of courage to open up our wounds, it's also good to share stories of faith with friends.  Each person walks away reminded of the blessings from God in their own lives as well as encouraged to see the work of God in others' lives.  Do you have other believers you can share in your journey with?

Are you hurting physically or mentally ?  Do you have pain that rarely subsides?  It's easy to focus on the pain and question where is God and why hasn't He healed you yet.  Don't let the pain speak louder than God's love for you.  He loves you very much.  This pain you bear can have meaning by bringing glory to God.  Be courageous today, don't concentrate on the pain, instead, be bold in your patience for the Lord.

Free yourself from negative people. Spend time with nice people who are smart, driven and like-minded. Relationships should help you, not hurt you. Surround yourself with people who reflect the person you want to be. Choose friends who you are proud to know, people you admire, who love and respect you – people who make your day a little brighter simply by being in it. Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you. When you free yourself from negative people, you free yourself to be you – and being you is the only way to truly live.

God has given you influence, power, and authority for a reason. No matter if you are waiting tables, raising children, or leading an organization, God's given you authority, even if you don't recognize it.  You can use your position for your benefit or you can declare it to God.  He gave you your influence for a reason.  Are you willing to give it back to Him?  When a need presents itself today, look for ways you can fulfill the need using your power.

Why don't we just tell the people we love that we love them?
- would it kill us?: No
- would the world stop turning?: no
- would that person shatter up in pieces?: no
- would you get hurt?: maybe
- will the other person be unhappy?: I dont think so
- will the other person love you too?: I guess about 95% of the time that person will, the other 5% will not try to hurt you cause if you really love them they probebly are amazing people and they will be nice to you.

So what are you going to do now you read this quote, my guess is that you will do nothing differently, but if you will tell everybody you love them i think that the world would be a better place.

It's easy to get carried away thinking good works and acts of kindness will make us right with God.  Sometimes we put so much faith in our our own abilities that we lose the need for God.  However, the Bible is very clear we cannot do enough good deeds to enter heaven.  Be comforted in knowing our faith in Jesus will cover us.  Yet, even if we believe, it is still easy to slip into performance based thinking where we must accomplish X,Y, and Z in order for God to love us.

What an honor it is to impress Jesus with your faith. But faith means believing in Jesus beyond human reason. Are you keeping your faith separate from your struggles in life? Invite Him in. Rituals and obligation do not amaze Jesus. Instead, it's trusting Jesus with your problems, asking for His help, and believing He will provide.
